The Dark Realm is the final area in the game Ōkamiden. It is a black, starry void, with floating octagonal platforms. When Chibiterasu and Isshaku run to the Moon Cave 100 years ago after Shiranui's death, Akuro is seen on top of True Orochi's corpse, possessing the body of Kuni and accompanied by Kurow. Akuro opens a portal to the Dark Realm, which sucks Chibi and Isshaku in like a vacuum. They are sent to a platform where Akuro is sitting on a throne. He summons Master Anura, Bullhead, Sen & Ryo, and King Fury. Isshaku uses his sword Denjinmaru to rip apart time and space, and the void begins to crack. Kurow closes the summoning portal, but Manpuku barges through anyway and so does Nanami and Kagu.
Chibi then has to go from platform to platform with switches that open up the path to the next one, and treasure chests, both of which are guarded by demons. The first platform has an Origin Mirror and a merchant. The last platform has a partner, who is under attack, with whom Chibi returns to the first platform. Then Chibi needs to utilize the partner to get to another platform on which he fights one of the bosses that Akuro resurrected. Chibi has to do this in three different areas for each of the partners.
In Room 1 Manpuku helps Chibi fight Master Anura, in Room 2 Nanami helps fight Bullhead, and in Room 3 Kagu helps fight Sen & Ryo (but not them individually) and then King Fury (without climbing Daidarabotchi).
And in Room 4, there is a merchant who also upgrades weapons like the Blacksmith and sells Secret Brush Techniques like the Shaman, as well as an Origin Mirror. Then Chibi has to fight Kurow. After Kurow is beaten, Akuro consumes Kuni and fights Chibi. When that battle is over, Chibi fights possessed Kuni riding Dark Chibiterasu.
Chibi cannot leave the Dark Realm until the end of the game, and he could not return to exploring after entering the Moon Cave 100 years ago anyway.
